The Bailout & Human Suffering

Spending 30+ years as a spiritual healer, I subconsciously measure the aggregate human suffering in every event I encounter. I concur that the bailout created more human suffering than simply leaving the checkbook in the drawer.

We missed an opportunity to discover “the bottom” (the true value) of our economy. Consider a dive down to the bottom of a swimming pool, but you only reached 15’ of depth before heading to the surface. Is the bottom 15’ 1” or 150’? The bailout’s most overlooked cost is that we’ll never know where the bottom was. We threw away a painful, but valuable opportunity. It meant we chose to not discover the foundation of what we have to build upon from here. It meant, that we couldn’t intelligently repair the foundation because we do not know where the foundation is located.

My point: if we simply would have let the chips fall before we acted, we would have got out of this mess far sooner; we could have allowed the human suffering to be healed by our fellow humans, and we would not have crippled our children with a debt that cannot realistically be repaid in their children’s lifetimes.

Am I saying that we would not have justly and expediently approved humanitarian funding once we hit bottom, like assuring that our children our fed? Of course not. I’m saying, we should not have spent one dollar until we found the bottom of the pool and took a look around. Then we should have spent our money on reducing human suffering, not propping up several structures that deserved to fall.

Spiritual healers are attuned to human suffering, and this is my only authority in writing this opinion. At times, hitting bottom can be the blessing of total enlightenment. In your own life, if you feel you are close to the bottom of the pool, keep diving. Take that risk. Trust in yourself and your Creator. I’ve done so twice I my life, and I’m here smiling.

Have we forgotten what friendship means?

As a spiritual healer, I’ve observed that there seems to be an increasing desire to measure, so called, “connectedness.” Basically, social networking friend counts and followers. We are disconnected from the places of our births, so often from our own bodies, from our emotions . . . no wonder we want a score in regard to connectedness.

Our best friends are returning to us after a move of about 2 years. My wife and I now feel more “complete,” not “connected.” True friends are family that you select, gifts from God, and mirrors of who we are. Spiritual healing begins with belonging. We all need to belong to many someones.

When our friends left we felt poorer, and now through them the only wealth that heaven allows us to measure, has been returned to us.

Why they call Bradley Falk: The Speed Healer

They call me “The Speed Healer” because I’ve always been certain that God does not have a hearing problem.  For this reason, for over thirty years, I’ve worked with my clients just once.  Of course, there is much work to do prior to that single 5-hour session.  Fundamental to success, I must determine that none of their dreams and intentions are in conflict.

Another reason I’ve arrived at the title “The Speed Healer” is my focus.  All healing must focus on the foundation of that person.  Spiritual healing never resembles surgery DONE TO YOU, it is more like a great big warm bath a healer GUIDES YOU TO.  In other words, I lift souls back into the arms of their God: the only place true healing can occur.

My book/Audio CD “Guided Passage” captures the magic of my single day sessions.  And yes, the healing you hunger for can only be a day away.

What makes evil?

As a spiritual healer for the last 30 years, I’ve observed humanity from a unique perspective.  What would cause a Bernard Madoff to do what he did?  The answer is weakness.  He could not allow himself to fail.  He could not allow himself to be scorned.  And, so the days passed.

Sooner or later we all wonder, “How the hell did I get here.”  Usually, you got there one day at a time through tens of thousands of tiny decisions.

A spiritual healer observes.  Evil is usually created incrementally, and that is the worst form of evil.

Changing the direction of your life can be initiated today.

Spiritual Healing & Mortality

The term “Spiritual Healing” inherently communicates that pain exists.  Anyone born in the 60s is wondering how the void left by the death of two icons—Michael Jackson & Farrah Fawcett—will be filled.  In truth, it cannot.  One of the lessons slowest learned is that you can never swim in the same river twice.  Healing means adaptation.  Healing means forward movement.  Remember, appreciate and move forward.

New Merlin Television Series

For several weeks we have been receiving e-mails and phone calls from those exclaiming, “Bradley, there is going to be a television series about Merlin!”

It is indeed true.  The show is originally from the UK, via BBC.  NBC has purchased the rights and it will begin airing on Sunday, June 21st at 8 PM EST.

Many find it amazing that the story of the Merlin simply will not go to sleep and slip away.  Beyond the BBC/NBC version, there are two other developments that involve a modern merlin, one a movie, the other a television series.

Here is the link: http://www.nbc.com/merlin/

Let us know what you think of the show,

“It hurts, but I don’t know exactly where.”

“It hurts, but I don’t know exactly where.”  This is the statement I have so often read on people’s faces over the last few months.  As you know, I really do focus on the positive, but there is a time for digging down in our own muck.

If you are hurting today, I challenge you to find that pain’s address.  The light of knowledge is never a negative force.  If your discomfort is derived from a fear? Or, is it that your reality is challenging one of your fundamental beliefs? Do you feel like someone has changed the rules?  Explore that.

Perhaps, the shortest path is to discover where your pain is not.  That alone can be a monumental 30 second exercise.  What is it that is twisting your gut?

When my wife, Jolan, and I find we are in discomfort, this is exactly what we do.  The act of shining the light on darkness activates a natural law.

My only caveat to you is: discover, do not dwell.

As always, believing in you,

Just Really-Really-Really Showing Up

I hit it a bit too hard over the weekend and yesterday, and found myself quite burned out this morning.  So I took my own advice, kinda went offline, and just decided to show up.  I told my angels that I was ready to be used, so I left my house and went to Starbuck’s for assignment.  Soon after walking in, my assignment showed up.  Young mom, daughter of 7 weeks, and husband walked out about six months ago.

For those who know me, you absolutely know I didn’t tell, “Everything works out for the best.”  I found out about the guy—and for the 5,817th time in my career I counseled someone who was in a life altering spot that a condom would have corrected.  I told her that.  She told me that no one ever spoke to her like an elder—like a father–like they cared.

I gave her a book from the trunk of my car and told her I don’t do crisis counseling and that I wasn’t the person she was going to be able to dump her shit on, or lean on.  She left lighter, because we had culled much bullshit.  She felt like her feet were on the ground.  She felt awake.  Doing what I do, to be honest, I didn’t “FEEL” all that much but I definitely heard my angels, and her angels sing, “Thank you.”

When you’re too tired to do, just show up.  I discovered hours later that my battery had slowly charged during the day.  And, that was a miracle.

The Glory Of A Nap

It wasn’t that many years ago that I associated naps with laziness.  No, it isn’t that I’m now pushing hard on 50.  I guess it’s that I realize I do my best work when I’m not working.  Clarity comes to me in quiet.  It always has, but I’ve only recently noticed.

In my lifetime, I’ve never been this productive, but I’ve also never been so steady.  When I’m tired, I now give myself the liberty to rest knowing I will find answers and energy in the stillness.  Sounds rather Zen for a non-Zen guy.

It’s time for me to go into the haze so I can figure out what’s worth focusing on.

Remembering Not To Forget

I just realized that I’d gone almost three weeks without attending my own private church.  How could I forget something so vital to my own life and so central to my teaching?

I discovered years ago that one of our fundamental flaws is simply being quiet.  No wonder I’ve been a bit jumpy.  I haven’t shut up and listened for nearly three weeks.

Although cliche, it really is true that the most important meeting you should have this week is the one with yourself.  I’m not talking about simply NOT turning on the radio on your way to work.  I’m not talking about a bike ride.  I’m talking about being utterly alone so you can find all of those parts of  YOU that drifted away in the last few days.

I’m truly excited to close my office door, turn on some amazing music and to DO absolutely nothing.  I’m excited to open my ears.  I’m excited to fill with so much gratitude it may actually seep from beneath my office door.

We must remember not to forget how important we are.
